Unrelenting hardcore with a melodic edge from Italy’s STORM{O}

I know people who complain that they can’t find any new (read: good) music and yet I barely have time to listen to all the new (read: good) music that I find.

Anyway, this new song from STORM{O} is like a harder take on the frantic and urgent hardcore that came out on labels like Gravity, Old Glory and Repercussion in the early 90s. I’m thinking names like Heroin, Manumission, Christopher Robin, early Antioch Arrow, Iconoclast, etc (except that, well, for the most part, this is better).

The standout thing to me is that this somehow feels brutal—its pace is absolutely unrelenting—and yet melodic or maybe catchy. Yo, also, I LOVE is the vocals—shouted not screamed in a way that reminds me of Jacob Bannon on the Converge emo joints like “Endless Arrow”.
