Heavy Rotation
New heaviness from Whores, Portrayal of Guilt, Human Impact & Conjurer, beats from Commodo, Palpa & Dalek One, and a reissue of the best band you’ve never heard, Laddio Bolocko. Plus like a ton of other jams.
This is a long one that doesn’t begin to scratch the surface of what I’ve been into the last 5 months but it’s chock full of bangers nonetheless. Biggest highlight for me is the discovery of late-90’s avant gardists Laddio Bolocko (featuring Blake Fleming of Dazzling Killment & De Facto on drums). I don’t know how I’d never even heard the name before now but it’s damn near perfect music drawing from noise rock, free jazz and breakbeats. In general exciting news there’s a new LP from Every Shape A Diamond featuring Josh LaRue of The Sorts on guitar and Merzbow’s Animal LIberation — Until Every Cage is Empty sounds very much like 90’s Merzbow.

Heavy on the hip-hop with new Big Ghost Ltd, Conway The Machine, and Muja Messiah and vintage ragga-jungle from the early-00’s Shockout Records era (Kid 606, The Bug, Daddy Freddy, Wayne Lonesome) and a lot more.
